Employee statutory contribution rate will revert to 11% from 8% from January 2018.
The employees' statutory contribution to the
Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will revert to the original 11% for
members below age 60, and 5.5% for those aged 60 and above with effect
from January 2018. This would be implemented in the February 2018 EPF contribution.
If you wish to contribute more than the statutory rate of 11% or
5.5% , you may do so by completing Form KWSP 17A (AHL) or Form KWSP 17AA
(AHL).
You will not be affected
by this policy if you have previously applied for a contribution of 11%. On the other
hand, if you have not applied before, you will pay an extra 3% from January
2018 onward.
Starting from
January 1, 2018, employers and employees are required to pay 13% and 11% respectively for EPF contribution.
Do not be surprised if
you find yourself getting a pay cut in 2018! You can browse the i-Akaun of Employee
Provident Fund to find out how much you have paid for EPF each month.
