If you
have a driving license, you will notice that the expiry date is the same as
your birthday. This is a measurement introduced by Malaysia's Land Transport
Authority (JPJ) so that every driver will not forget to renew their driver's
license when it is expired.
The
driver's license holder may choose to renew the driving license term once a
year, once every two years, three years, four years or five years. The renewal
fee for a year is RM 30 and now RM 90 for three years.
Now you
can update your driving license online without going to the Post Office or the
JPJ.
Just browse
https://www.myeg.com.my/ and register a MyEG account. After you register your
MyEG account, you can choose the JPJ nearest to your area.
Then you
can choose Driving License Renewal to renew your driver's license. Fill in the
required information and choose your payment method. Before making payment, you
must make sure that the information you have filled in is correct else your
driver's license may not be able to process. After the payment is completed,
you must print out your receipt.
MyEG will
post the new driver's license to you based on the address that you have filled
in. If you are staying in the Klang Valley, you will need to pay RM5 for
postage, RM6 for other Penisular area and RM10 for Sabah and Sarawak.
Note that
P License can not be updated online. P license holders will still have to go to
the nearby Land Transport Agency (JPJ) for to process their driving license.
